The Cuban Public Registry of Clinical Trials (RPCEC) is a website with a database of clinical trials, with national coverage. It was established in 2007 under the leadership of the National Coordinating Center of Clinical Trials (CENCEC) and with INFOMED collaboration.
This site allows to the sponsors of clinical trials, to register their trials and to get a RPCEC code. For that they need:
- Register as sponsor (only the first time of access)
- Complete and submit the application forms both in Spanish and English.
- To obtain the RPCEC code
RPCEC code is obtained once the clinical trial is considered ready for registration and publication. The data provided in Spanish and English is responsibility of the trial sponsor. This code must be acquired before recruitment of the first subject/patient (PROSPECTIVE REGISTRATION). This is established in resolution 435 of 2017 of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (Clinical trials reglament in Cuba). In addition, if the trial is authorized by the Center for the State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (CECMED), RPCEC code must be sent to the referred institution, before issuing the authorization certificate for the Clinical Trial or Clinical Research (Resolution 70/2014 of the CECMED). A registered trial will not be removed from public view.
Anyone interested can check the registered clinical trials and other information resources. Only a user who wishes to register a trial (trial sponsor) requires a username and password.
Note: If you are interested into register trials at the site, please visit "Registration process".
