Participant flow:
One hundred forty-seven individuals were invited to participate in this study. Fifty-eight were assessed for eligibility. After screening, 40 eligible participants (22 women and 18 men) provided written informed consent and were gradually enrolled between February and May 2023. Participants were followed up for 12 weeks, with the follow-up period concluding in August 2023. Follow-up ended in August 2023

Adverse events:
The reported adverse events were related to gastrointestinal discomfort caused by the introduction of dietary fiber in individuals who initially had a diet low in fruits and vegetables. The discomfort symptoms resolved after participants adapted to its consumption, typically within two to three days of symptom onset.
Summary study:
Of the 147 people invited, 58 were evaluated and 40 eligible (22 women and 18 men) participated after giving consent between February and May 2023. The 12-week follow-up concluded in August 2023. Reported adverse events included discomfort gastrointestinal related to the increase in fiber in people with diets poor in fruits and vegetables, symptoms that disappeared after 2-3 days of adaptation.
